I never imagined our starry eyed daydream would really manifest and come to be something so beautiful. The first time I watched this video I cried. Seeing it all at once brought back a flood of love drenched memories. We are so grateful for everything that has flowed out of Cleobella, it really is an extension of our hearts and family. This dream we had has changed, evolved, manifested new dreams, and continues to grow day by day in ways we never could have foreseen. It is an expression of love to all of the beauty, artisans, and people we have met throughout our travels. It all comes back to love, our biggest inspiration of all that keeps us looking to the light on the horizon and always sparks our need to create.

10 years ago we arrived in Bali…
B A L I
Eyes bright with wonder, and hearts filled with love.
We were full of inspiration and truly felt like, by some cosmic force, we found our magic!
I knew I needed to create, Jim knew he needed to surf, and we both knew we wanted a life of travel, adventure, and intention.
Cleobella is the manifestation of our dreams, intentions, and our love for Bali. We knew we wanted our own business, to carve out our own creative path. We never could have imagined how much our lives, our families, Bali, and Cleobella would evolve over the next ten years.
L O V E
We loved Bali within an instant. It had that spark, we had that “Ah ha” moment and knew it would be a part of our lives forever. We were completely enamored with our lush surroundings and intrigued by the Balinese Culture. We made a promise to each other that we would come back every year. 10 years later and our promise has never been broken. The inspiration we felt on that first trip, the magic that is Bali, and our deep love for this place still fills us to the core.
There have been so many mountain top moments, countless “Dream Big” moments as Jim would say, and sometimes what seems to be an endless stream of challenges to face. Owning your own business and producing in a foreign country is not for the faint of heart, but like any great love the trials make the successes so much sweeter. We have learned so much over the course of these past ten years. We have learned that raising kids and traveling is straight up insanity…and we wouldn’t have it any other way! We split time between Seal Beach California and Bali every year, while raising and learning from our little ones, Indigo Skye and Keenan. The contrast of the two worlds keeps us excited! Keenan and Indigo our are little teachers, our wild, crazy, free spirits, keeping us in a constant state of motion. Traveling and experiencing new cultures grounds us, challenges us, and makes us better versions of ourselves. It is a real dream to share this life with our little ones, no matter how challenging it can be at times.
I N T E N T I O N
Another lesson we have experienced is the power of intention. The fashion industry and Bali have both changed dramatically. Fashion is now saturated with countless fast fashion brands pumping out disposable clothing every couple of weeks. We never saw our brand or products as disposable so even when the industry would push us we would push back with intentionally designed products. We have worked with a small team of artisans over the span of ten years. The relationships we have developed with them are so life giving.
C A L I F O R N I A L O V E
California has our hometown magic. Our family, our Boutique, and our Bella Tribe reside here. Our Sunset Beach Boutique is our happy place. It is steps from the sea and our inspiration haven. We get to fill it with travel treasures and all of our handmade designs. The community that has poured out from this place is unreal, we are so grateful. This is our place to come together celebrate, host workshops, special events, and connect with our friends and family while they sip and shop. There’s just nothing like a crisp, clear, California Winter. It will always be our home and where we come back to.
We still have countless things to learn and much more to create, but remaining intentional and following what we have manifested will always be at the core of our Cleobella story. Thank you for being a part of our journey !
