From the ancient art of Indian woodblock printing comes our most sustainable dresses to date. The summer-soft fabric is made of natural fibers for a loose and airy fit, perfect for long, balmy evenings or exploring local markets.
Woodblock printing is the oldest form of printing. Originating from a time when the elements played as large a part as the artisans, each dress is created from fabric soaked in fresh water and left to dry in the sunshine. Designs are carved in teak wooden blocks, a new one for each color dye, then hand-pressed into the textile with care until the final pattern is achieved. The process is the slowest of all printing, each step an ancient tradition passed down over the centuries.
